body temperature
important to us?
Introduction
1. Heat is the final and irreversible form in which
energy obtained from the oxidation of
foodstuffs is eliminated from the body
At about 75 80% the energy obtained from
oxidations is converted into heat
2. Only in narrow limits of temperature of internal
environment metabolism takes place
Nerve cells are sensitive to temperature changes
Enzymes (that is protein) involved in chemical
process in the body are proteins which are
inactivated when temperature rises above a certain
level

Causes
This warming is largely attributed to the
increase of greenhouse gases (primarily
carbon dioxide and methane) in the
Earth's upper atmosphere caused by

farming, and deforestation activities.
