ABOUT PROJECT
“Attendance Analysis System” is
developed, keeping in mind the
requirements about day-to-day
handling of attendance of the
students by the faculties in the
engineering colleges. By using
Attendance analysis system, a
lecturer can keep track of attendance
of every student, analyze it and finally
build a Microsoft Word based report.

WHAT IS C# DOT NET ?
C# is the latest programming
language introduced by Microsoft.
It contains features similar to Java , C
and C++.
It is fully object oriented.
It is language independent.
It has a fixed syntax.
It is used for web based applications.

ABOUT BACK END

Here we are using Microsoft Access,


a back-end as to store the data
collected by the application.
And a Microsoft word based report is
generated at the end.

For starting up with the project we will create a
menu strip which will contain the following menu
items:
Department
Class
Lecturer
Subject
Student
Registration
Attendance

First of all we will click on the department menu
then we will click on the new department name.
When we click on New Department Name a form
is displayed on the screen where we can type the
names of each department on a new line. Once
we typed in the required department names click
Add, a new department name will be added.
Similarly we have other options like modify (to
modify existing dept. name) ,delete (to delete
adept. Name), display (to view the dept names).

Now we need to add new classes to the


departments. To add new classes, click the
"Class" menu and click “New Class Name”.
Here first we have to select a department in
which classes are to be added, and type in
the names of new classes on a new line each.
Once we typed the entire required class
names click "Add” a new class name is added
to the department.
Other options of the class are modify, delete
and display classes.

The “Lecturer” menu shown will let us
add, modify, delete, and display the
lecturers in a department.
In this menu we first click “New Lecturer
Name” .On clicking, “New Lecturer
Name” form is displayed on the screen. In
this form we first select the department in
which the Lecturer is to be added. Then we
enter the new lecturers’ name on a new
line each.

After creating Departments, Classes and Lecturers
, we can now add Subjects to this application
using the “Subject” menu. Now to add new
subject to the class we have to select the
"Subject" menu and click "New Subject Name”
in which we have to select Department Name,
Class Name and Semester, and then enter the
Subjects to be added, each on a new line. Finally
click “Add” to add the new subject(s).
In the same way we can display ,delete and
modify the subject name.

The main purpose of this application is to analyze the


attendance of each student. Thus it denotes that the
students’ name must be added to this system. To
perform the operations like adding, modifying,
deleting and displaying the details about a particular
student is done by the “Student” menu. In this click
new student name in this we have to first select the
Department Name, Class Name and add the
student(s) name. Besides this you will find the Roll
No. of the currently added student & the Maximum
Roll No of students that are already present. Then
click “Add” to add the new students .

In Attendance Analysis System, we require
a Lecturer to get assigned to a subject who
can maintain the list & attendance of the
students choosing that subject. For lecturer
registration click "Lecturer Registration"
from "Registration" menu as shown in
Figure 6.1. The "Lecturer Registration"
has other sub menus namely: "Register
Lecturer Name for a Subject",
"Unregister Lecturer Name for a
Subject”, and “Display List of registered
Subject in Semester “.

In this step we can add or register


students for a particular subject to do
so, click on "Student Registration"
of "Registration". It consist of three
sub menus, namely "Register
Student Name for a subject",
"Unregister Student Name for a
Subject" and ”Display List of
student register for a subject”

In this step a Lecturer can add attendance per month, to do


this, click "Add Attendance (subject wise)" under
"Attendance" menu. Then "Add Attendance Subject
wise" form will be displayed as shown in Figure 8.2. Here
you have to first select Department Name, Class Name,
Semester, Subject Name, Lecturer Name and Month then
click on "Show Attendance Sheet". It will display
attendance sheet for Department, Class, Semester,
Subject, Lecturer, and Month you selected. Then first enter
No. of Lectures Conducted and then we can add number
of lectures attended by the students in month column. "July"
column of attendance sheet indicates attendance for the
month of July. Once we add all attendance of students,
click on "Add attendance”. It will save attendance of july in
the database.lly for all the months can be done.

In this final step we can display and build
the Word based attendance sheet. For this,
click "Build Attendance Document
(Subject Wise)" under "Attendance"
menu.
Then "Build attendance Document
(Subject wise)" form will be displayed
Here we have to first select Department
Name, Class Name, Semester, Subject
Name and Lecturer Name then click on
"Show Attendance". It will display
attendance sheet at the middle of screen
