In February 2012 Facebook said that the average page was reaching just 12% of its fans.

The stats are in your page insights and depending on how responsive your fans are is
how many times youll show up in their newsfeed.
The fans who click on your posts, comment, like or share will see your posts in their
newsfeed which makes your Edgerank go way up
What does that mean? Long and short of itin addition to your content you need to
advertise to get seen. Caveat, advertising on Facebook isnt boosting posts

Facebook wants to show each person the things theyd be most interested in based on
past posts youve clicked on, commented on, liked and shared, and then they show you
