Instruction Defined
Instruction a systematic process of imparting
knowledge from one person to another in order
to develop and enhance the learners capacity
and capability in life. It involves gaining attention,
informing learners of objectives, stimulating
recall of prior learning, presenting the stimulus,
providing learning guidance, eliciting
performance, providing feedback, assessing
performance and enhancing retention and
transfer (Gagn, Robert M., Nine Events of
Instruction)
Research Defined
Research - A creative inquiry on a particular
subject undertaken on a systematic basis with
the end of finding and reporting new
information that will increase the stock of
knowledge on man, culture and society that
will establish or confirm facts, affirm results of
previous work, solve new or existing problems
and support or develop new theories.


EXTENSION DEFINED
Extension - The word Extension is derived from
the Latin roots ex meaning Out ' and ' tensio
meaning stretching. Stretching out is the
meaning of Extension. It is a demand driven out
of school education and other services of the
academe in the communities utilizing expertise
on instruction, applying research outputs and
providing needed goods and professional services
to communities in dire need. It utilize social
mobilization as a tool to effectively reach out.

PRODUCTION/ECONOMIC or
BUSINESS ENTERPRISE
Production in the academe is in line with the
mandate for SUCs to engage on economic
enterprise/income generating projects to earn
funds to augment the funds coming from the
national budget. This include the production
of books, modules and similar goods including
the conduct of professional services for a fee
to clients.
