DBA RATING SCALE
1 : I did not understand this module at all and cannot
explain it confidently.
2: I did not understand most of the module and would
have trouble explaining it confidently.
3: I understood all or most of the module, but may have
trouble explaining it confidently.
4: I understand all of the module, and can explain it
confidently.
Module 1: Learning Goal
Students will be able to identify real numbers as either
rational or irrational, convert real and rational numbers
into their decimal numbers and vice versa, find the
approximate location of irrational numbers on a number
line, create equivalent expressions using properties of
exponents, find the square roots of perfect squares,
approximate for nonperfect squares, cube roots of small
perfect cubes, read, write, and compare numbers written
in scientific notation and solve problems using scientific
notation and standard form.
Module 2: Learning Goal
Students will be able to define and identify
translations, reflections, rotations, dilations,
transversals corresponding sides and angles, center
and degree of rotation, line of reflection, apply
congruency, similarity and find the sum of the angles
of a triangle.
Module 3: Learning Goal
Students will be able to model and apply the
Pythagorean Theorem, use formulas to find the
volume of cones, cylinders, and spheres.
Module 4: Learning Goal
Students will be able to define a function as a rule,
determine whether a relation is a function from a
rule, a set of ordered pairs, a graph, or a situation,
compare properties of functions represented
algebraically, graphically, numerically in tables, or by
verbal expressions, and identify functions as linear or
non-linear by analyzing a graph.
Module 5: Learning Goal
Students will be able to graph and compare
proportional relationships, compute rate of change,
interpret the unit rate, and discuss slope as a
constant rate of change. Determine y-intercept of a
line, derive an equation for a line using y=mx+b,
determine the rate of change from two values, and
describe qualitatively the functional relationship
between two quantities by analyzing a graph.

Module 6: Learning Goal
Students will be able to identify and describe
patterns such as clustering, outliers, positive,
negative, linear, and nonlinear association, interpret
and construct scatter plots, recognize, determine the
equation, and make predictions of a line of best fit,
and define, construct, recognize relative frequency,
bivariate categorical data, differences between
frequency and relative frequency and make
connections between data.
Module 7: Learning Goal
Students will be able to identify examples of linear
equations with one, many, and no solutions, solve
two-step equations, and linear equations with
variables on both sides and that contain fractions.
Module 8: Learning Goal
Students will be able to understand how to identify
the solution to a system of two linear equations,
describe their point of intersection, and graph. Also
solving with two unknowns using elimination and can
verify graphically, and model a real-world situation
using a system of equations.
