The King and His Kingdom

Part 4
Jesus had ONE message:
THE KINGDOM
From that time Jesus began to preach ,and to say,
Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand
(Mt.4:17)
The word repent is metanoeo and literally means to
think differently.
We repent to get forgiven, God says repent to SEE the
kingdom!
Matt.4:18-23
And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw
two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew
his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they
were fishermen. Then He said to them,
Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of
men. They immediately left their nets and
followed Him.
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in
their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the
kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and
all kinds of disease among the people.
Note priority: Gather and connect THEN
empower and send!
Why? To establish Gods Kingdom on earth!
Many are confused on this point as were the
disciples as Jesus was about to ascend:
Therefore, when they had come together,
they asked Him, saying, Lord, will You at this
time restore the kingdom to Israel? Acts 1:6
Three aspects: 1.Future 2. relates to Israel
3. outward manifestation
Most powerful aspect of the Kingdom is its
spiritual nature:
1. Empowerment of the Holy Spirit
2. Process of development
3. Inclusion and connection to ALL people groups
And He said to them, It is not for you to
know times or seasons which the Father has
put in His own authority. But you shall receive
power when the Holy Spirit has come upon
you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in
Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and
to the end of the earth. Acts 1:7-8
4 Vital Truths
1. Times and seasons indicate the length of time that is
needed for developing the Kingdom of God.
2. The empowering Holy Spirit defines the heavenly
origin and spiritual nature of it
3. The power is the manifestation of the kingdom in
faith and miracles
4. The geography is Gods heart for our locale AND the
UNIVERSAL scope of the Kingdom
The earth is important to God and His call to you is to
enter into CO-laboring with Him to SAVE it!
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If
My kingdom were of this world, My servants would
fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but
now My kingdom is not from here.
You FIGHT from where you are to where you want to
be!
God is calling us to JOIN Him, to bring the
kingdom of God to this earth!
But what has to happen is we have to become a
Kingdom minded people with a single agenda
that folds into Him!
But seek first the kingdom of God and His
righteousness, and all these things shall be added
to you. Mt.6:33
When I put the Kingdom FIRST my life takes on
a whole new dimension.
My Kingdom connection changes ME!
My thoughts are differentcentered on King
My motives changeliving beyond comfort
My work changessee it all FOR and BY God
My desires changeborn from communion
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will
ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By
this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so
you will be My disciples. John 15:7-8
Many have tried to make this verse the basis of how
you can get what you want from God
But you have to see this verse in the context of
CONNECTION!
Your desires are birthed out of what you
commune with.
DESIRE: deof sirefather
Your desires are fathered by what you commune
with.
Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give
you the desires of your heart. Ps.37:4
What God FATHERS he FULFILLS!
This is why satan does all he can to break your
communion with the Father.
This is why you must be careful WHO you
commune with.
Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil
companionships (communion, associations)
corrupt and deprave good manners and morals
and character.
This is why we need the communion of the Holy
Spirit in our lives AND the communion of the
saints to help encourage us and KEEP us on track.
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the
communion of the blood of Christ? The bread
which we break, is it not the communion of the
body of Christ? 1 Cor.10:16
For I received from the Lord that which I also
delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the
same night in which He was betrayed took
bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He
broke it and said, Take, eat;[b] this is My
body which is broken[c] for you; do this in
remembrance of Me.
In the same manner He also took the cup after
supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant
in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it,
in remembrance of Me. For as often as you
eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim
the Lords death till He comes.
Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this
cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be
guilty of the body and blood[d] of the Lord. 28
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat
of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who
eats and drinks in an unworthy manner[e] eats
and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning
the Lords[f] body.
