2.5 Collecting Ideas and information
The main sources of information were
Workshop heads, Workshop Technician and
CoET Students
The methods used to collect ideas were
Questionnaires for workshop heads and
technicians
Interviewing some students
Site observation (looking around and deep
thinking) and taking pictures
Brain storming
Product ideas
From the collection of ideas and
information, a total of 20 ideas were
identified from the Workshops.
2.6 Idea Evaluation and Prioritization
Due to time constraints, cost of production and material
availability
The following ten ideas were selected in order of priority,
1. Demonstration (display) board for teaching aid/models
2. Precaution symbols
3. Teaching models – machine tools, bench w/shop, carpentry
and electrical workshop
4. Special Dust bin for saw dust collection
5. Saw dust collection machine (vacuum cleaner)
6. Material handling machine (Trolley)
7. Bricks making machine
8. Oxy-Acetylene trolley
9. Jigs and Fixtures
10. Tool box
