Inquiry is the flame that lights the intellectual
journey of the knower. In gaining knowledge
skills The TOK knower seeks to be an
independent thinker and a life long learner
Knowledgeable
The TOK learner acquires a broad base of
knowledge across disciplines and issues as a
life long learner.

Thinkers
seeks to be active, reasoned, creative, and
ethical in decision making.
Communicators
takes a collaborative approach to the
business of learning and knowing, operates in
more than one language, and in several
modes of communication.
Principled
seeks to understand, through ethical
framework, a respect for the individual and
groups. Their life is a crucible of ethical
responsibilities and conduct.

The Assignment
Write an essay-1+ pages.
Paragraph 1: introduce yourself-why are you an IB
candidate? What do you hope to gain from the program?
Body Paragraphs: Choose 3 strengths that you have from
the IB learner profile and discuss each one. Choose 1 area
that you need to improve to become more successful. How
will you improve upon it?
In the body of the paper, describe and support your
strengths by using examples, anecdotes and reasons.
Finally, address your area of development and make a plan
for how you can achieve success in this area over the next
two years.
