Current System
The current system of the civil hospital is
partly manual and partly computerized.
Some of the activities like booking for
services, salary of employees, Patient
records, are done manually. While account
keeping, cash receipts, are done through
system

Problems in current System
Lack of immediate retrievals
Lack of immediate information storage
Lack of prompt updating
Error prone manual calculation
Preparation of accurate and prompt reports
There is no follow up to the patients after treatment so patient alert
system in prescribed time must be maintained
Payment system is limited to cash so the facility of online payment
and swipe payment would be good service.
The patients records are not computerized, their last visits,
prescriptions and other diagnosis reports is not make computerized.

Need for New System
To generate the important report on day wise or month
wise.
Storing large amount of data for future point of view.
Reducing manual efforts for maintaining the system.
Reducing process time
Emphasis on accuracy data
Fully automated, need for human intervention
Friendly user interface can be used by any user.

Purpose of system
The Software is for the automation of Hospital
Management.
It maintains two levels of users:-
Administrator Level
User Level
The Software includes:-
Maintaining Patient details.
Providing Prescription, Precautions and Diet advice.
Providing and maintaining all kinds of tests for a patient.
Billing and Report generation
Goals of new System

Planned approach towards working
Accuracy
Reliability
No redundancy
Immediate retrieval of information
Easy to operate
Limitation of new system

Costly
Required extra technologies and human
resources

Alternative Solutions
Buy system package
Develop new system

Feasibility Analysis
Economic Feasibility
This feasibility checks whether the system can be developed with the
available funds.
The cost to conduct a full system investigation.
The cost of hardware and software for the class of application being
considered.
The benefits in the form of reduced cost.
The proposed system will give the minute information, as a result the
performance is improved which in turn may be expected to provide
increased profits.

Technical feasibility
This is concerned with specifying equipment and software
that will successfully satisfy the user requirement.
A study of resource availability that may affect the ability
to achieve an acceptable system.
Can the work for the project be done with current
equipment existing software technology & available
personal?
Can the system be upgraded if developed?
If new technology is needed then what can be
developed?

Operational Feasibility
The system is operationally feasible as it very easy for the End
users to operate it. It only needs basic information about
Windows platform
What changes will be brought with the system?
What organization structures are disturbed?
What new skills will be required? Do the existing staff
members have these skills? If not, can they be trained in due
course of time?

Legal Feasibility:
A determination of any infringement, violation, or liability that could
result from development of the system. Legal feasibility tells that the
software used in the project should be original purchased from the
legal authorities and they have the license to use it or the software
are pirated.
Schedule feasibility
Time evaluation is the most important consideration in the
development of project. The time schedule required for the
developed of this project is very important since more development
time effect machine time, cost and cause delay in the development
of other systems.
A reliable Hospital Management System can be developed in the
considerable amount of time.

COST AND BENEFIT ANALYSIS:

costs
Development Costs
Operating Costs
Hardware/Software Costs
Personnel Costs
Facility Costs
Supply Costs

BENEFITS
We can define benefits as
Profit or Benefit = Income Costs
Benefits can be accrued by:
Increasing income, or
Decreasing costs, or
Both

Investigation and requirement

Investigation
Investigation is carried out to fully understand the current
system and the proposed system
The current system
How staff / customers interact with the current system
How other systems interact with the current system
What is good about the current system
What causes problems with the current system
Which parts of the system are critical to the business

Question
Q: Hello Sir, How would you feel about having a
computerised system of receiving the receipts, after you end
up your treatment here
Q: What is the main problem you face working over here

department?
Q: What are the advantages of the current manual system
Q: What are the disadvantages of this method?

Q: So how does the clinic receive its payments
Q: What are your fields of expenditure?
Q: Will you be comfortable with the computerised system
instead of the existing manual system?
Q: Dont you feel the need of security, so that only
selected people are allowed to view certain files?
