Statement of the Problem

General Problem
How to develop an Enrollment
Management System with Scheduling and
Grades Portal for Camarines Sur Polytechnic
College: Based on Spiral Life Cycle Model?

Specific Problems

schedule via web?
How to create a module that will monitor
payment, check payment, balances, and other
school fees?
How to create a module that will keep students
informations and maintain its availability?

faculty members room assignment?

Current State of Technology

Objectives
General Objective
To develop an Enrollment Management
System with Scheduling and Grades Portal for
Camarines Sur Polytechnic College: Based on
Spiral Life Cycle Model that will help
user/personnel enroll students faster.
Specific Objectives
To create a module that can view grades and schedule
via web for students convenience.
To create a module that will monitor payment, check
payment, balances, and other school fees.
To create a module that allows users to check the
availability of information's that are saved in a database.
To create a module where faculty members can encode
grades and retrieve them to Grades Portal so students can
view them.
To create a module where users can easily locate faculty
members where they are assigned to so students wont
have to roam around the school looking for them.

Scope and Limitations

Scope:
Calculate Payments
The Proposed Enrollment Management System allows Cashier
to calculate payments for tuition fees, miscellaneous and other
payments.

Computerized Enrollment Form
Easier process of enrolling with an Enrollment Form where users
will input the informations needed during the actual enrollment
process.

Holds the students records
The Proposed Enrollment Management System holds student
records on a database and keeps the informations for future
purposes.

A computerized filing cabinet to keep students information
The Proposed Enrollment Management System saves data in a
digitalized filing cabinet which is the MySQL Database server.
This serves as the systems reliable, high-performance and
scalable database.

Easy searching of students information for other purposes
The Proposed system allows users to search student and its
informations to easily locate and check the informations
needed.

Can view grades on Web
One of the scopes of the Proposed Enrollment Management
System is the Grades Portal where students can view their
grades online. It gives them the privilege to track their grades
once they are released by the school.

Encoding of Grades
The proposed Enrollment Management System allows faculties
to encode grades and these will be available to the Grades
Portal so it can be viewed by the students once grades are
released.

Monitoring of Faculty Members
The Proposed Enrollment Management System allows users to
check the schedule of faculty members and what room they are
assigned to so it would be easier for them to locate where the
faculty member is.
Administrators can only see the students information
Aside from the students who can see their own informations,
the administrator is allowed to see or check the student
informations as well.

The system is dependent on the administrator
Every transaction or process that will occur will not only base on
what the administrator wants to do. There are also other user
levels that can perform other transactions and processes within
the system.

The system is not a web-based program
The Proposed Enrollment Management System does not run in
a website. VB.NET is used to create the system.

The system does not manage student requirements
The Proposed Enrollment Management System does not save
nor manage student requirements like Birth Certificate (NSO),
Good Moral, Transcript of Records (TOR) and etc.

The system does not have maintenance for miscellaneous
The proposed Enrollment Management System does not have
maintenance for miscellaneous because miscellaneous can be
edited once they need for update.
