Period: This indicates the interval when the Nastar measures the frequencies
in each group. The value is any integer ranging from 1 to 48 (1 and 48 are
included). The unit is *15 (minute). That is, the period is a integer times of 15
minutes.

Measure Step: This indicates divides the number of frequencies in a group.

The value is any integer ranging from 1 to 32 (1 and 32 are included).

GSM Frequency Analysis Application

Scenarios

Scenarios of GSM frequency analysis are as follows:

Perform frequency optimization for some key cells after frequency planning on
the entire network.

Perform frequency optimization for cells with poor network quality or VIP cells.

Select frequencies for capacity expansion of cells.

Output the interference matrix to be used by other tools for frequency analysis.

There are two matrixes on the GSM, namely, intra-frequency interference matrix and neighboring cell interference matrix.

Subtract the level of the

neighboring cell from the
level of the service cell. If
the obtained value is
smaller than 12 dB, and
they are configured as
intra-frequency cells, intrafrequency interference is
generated.

Subtract the level of the

neighboring cell from the
level of the service cell. If
the obtained value is
smaller than -6 dB, and
they are configured as
inter-frequency cells, interfrequency interference is
generated.

Query (Frequency Optimization)

Meanings of values in the frequency

separation rule table are as follows:
Difference values of absolute frequency
numbers of two frequencies must be
greater than the set value:
0: Difference value of absolute frequency
numbers must be greater than or equal to
0 (that is, there is no restriction).
1: Difference value of absolute frequency
numbers must be greater than or equal to
1 (that is, the cells must not be configured
as intra-frequency cells).
2: Difference value of absolute frequency
numbers must be greater than or equal to
2 (that is, the cells must not be configured
as intra-frequency or inter-cell cells).
