Converting from our time to military time
2013/2014 medical math class in Health Tech I
In the medical field, the use of military time is preferred
We demonstrated conversion skills, and medical math skills
These skills will be useful in the future because military time is the
preferred time to be used for medical charting and other reasons. So I
will have to convert between the two times every day.
Learned how to read an EKG strip.
Learned this is Health Tech II in 2014
After we learn how to read EKG strips efficiently we will earn our EKG
tech certifications
Learning to read graphs clearly and read what may be wrong with the
EKG strip
This skill will help me in the future because I will know the proper way
to read an EKG strip so if there is something wrong with the way the
patients heart beats I will be able to figure it out.
Calculating prescription dosages
Health Tech I math class junior year
To calculate the correct dosage of medication to give to a patient
Problem solving, and medical mathematic skills
These skills will help me in my future because this is something that I will be
doing in my every day work life.
