BookMyShow.com, an entertainment ticketing
company, started about six and a half years ago in
India.
it runs on a service fee that it charges its
customers for every ticket purchased through the
website.
It is a high volume and low margin business.
Bookmyshow is the only web-site in India that
sells tickets on behalf of multiple cinemas.

Its been less than four years since BookMyShow
came out in 2007 and it already boasts 40% CAGR
in revenues and holds over 90% market share in
the online entertainment ticketing space.

such as customers interests
by the way they navigate through the pages,
where they spend most of their time,
types of movies or shows they watch,
when and how often they normally watch,
the locations, transaction patterns, payment
methods.

This information in turn enabled the firm to
segment its customers more accurately,
communicate with them meaningfully and
make appropriate recommendations, so that
the customers have a great user experience
with the company.
