Brief Introduction

"Andhra Bank" was founded by the eminent freedom  fighter and a


multifaceted genius, Dr.Bhogaraju Pattabhi Sitaramayya. The Bank was
registered on 20th November 1923 and commenced business on 28th
November 1923 with a paid up capital of Rs 1.00 lakh and an authorized capital
of Rs 10.00 lakhs.
The Bank has entered into ATM Sharing Arrangements with State Bank of
India, HDFC Bank, IDBI Bank, Indian Bank and UTI Bank, thus offering over
9, 000 ATMs spread across the Country for use by Customers. Instant Funds
Transfer Facility is provided through 664 Branches.

STRATERGIES

Corporate strategy is supposed to be the means


by which an organization achieves and sustains
success.
The outline strategy was to achieve the 50 per
cent growth, he said in the last fiscal, the bank
achieved a 28 per cent growth in credit and about
20 per cent in deposits. It had identified growth
areas and selected 62 Tier-II and Tier-III
locations to open branches.
The strategy included having greater presence
with a plethora of new products and processes and
increased productivity, Mr. Reddy stated.
AIMS AND GOALS

Andhra Bank, a public sector bank aims to enter the mid-size category
of banks in the country by the end of this fiscal by crossing a total
business volume of Rs 1,00,000 crore.
“Their aim is to enter the mid-size category of banks by the end of this
fiscal and the big size category by March 2010 through aggressive
expansion of business", said T Ravindranath, one of the directors of
Andhra Bank.
Banks with a total business volume of less than Rs 1,00,000 crore are
categorized as small size banks while banks with a business volume of over
Rs 1,00,000 crore are categorized as mid-sized banks by the Reserve
Bank of India (RBI).
Andhra Bank has been restructuring and setting new goals in order to
expand its reach internationally and is reported to be poised to achieve
the status of a large bank.
Eligibility Criteria:

1.Nationality / Citizenship

2.Minimum qualification:

Colonel and above in Army or person of equivalent rank in Navy/ Air Force.   
or
A Police Officer of the rank of Deputy Inspector General  or a person of
equivalent rank in paramilitary services.
or
Security Officers in Public Sector Banks in Senior Management Grade Scale-
IV with at least 2 years of service in that scale.
or
Officers of IPS of the rank of DIG and above on deputation for a period of 3
years, extendable up to 5 years with approval of the Government.
3.APPLICATION FEE: (Non-Refundable)

 Rs. 400/- towards fees should be paid by way of Demand Draft/Pay Order
favoring ANDHRA BANK RECRUITMENT PROJECT 2009 payable at
HYDERABAD ONLY. The demand draft should invariably be attached to the
application. Payment of application fee by cash/cheque/postal order/money
order will not be accepted.
 Candidates must write his/her name and address on the reverse side of the
Bank Draft/Pay Order.

4.Selection procedure:

 The selection of the Candidates will be made on the basis of performance in


interview. Depending on the number of applications received, the Bank
reserves the right to call only requisite number of candidates for interview
after preliminary screening and short listing of applications with reference to
their qualifications, experience and suitability. Mere satisfying the eligibility
norms do not entitle a candidate to be called for interview.
