The typography of the logo is simple in a sans-serif

font allowing the audience to easily read the

bands name. The sharpness and boldness of the
font also connotes the formality of the band. To
further emphasize this, the use of the colour black
is very intense due to its saturation. This may also
connote a sense of masculinity as the band
members are all male and the black itself is a
dominating colour possibly connoting their
position of authority.

Conventions of the genre rock is adhered

through the dark colour black. This colour is
often associated to rock music and can be
seen here. However, as The Script is also a
hybrid-genre as they are also a pop band we
can see conventions of pop through the font.
The incomplete S and conjoined C and R
are examples of sherif font which is often a
convention on pop bands or artists.

The layout of the logo is quite asymmetrical. This

is achieved by the inconsistency of the size of the
font for one word; the is a smaller size to Script
placing more emphasis on the word Script.
Again, this helps the audience to easily read and
identify the band as there is no difficulty to read.
An audiences attention goes directly to script
first which allows easy recognition. Moreover the
use of the white background against the black
typography also helps the audience to identify the
band as the colours compliment one another.

The logo is synergistic to

the poster as it is the main
focus of poster assuming
that their fans would
recognise them instantly.
Though there may be
some small changes in the
colours the layout and
typography remains the
same.

As for the music video/poster and digipak, the logo

is indeed synergistic to one another. The logo does
not change too much but if so, it changes in the
colour of the font. Dependent on the background
or on the overall image the artist is trying to
portray. In example, her newest album titled
Beyonc uses the same logo but the font colour is
a light pink against a black background. This
connotes femininity of the artist a contrast to this
logo where her image here is a dominant,
empowered artist.

The layout of the font is also symmetrical, the size

of the font is all the same allowing the audience to
easily identify the artist. The use of the contrasting
colours of black and white also helps to read the
logo, the simplicity and friendly user font achieves
a logo very easy to read.

Beyoncs music are in the genres of R&B and pop.

One can argue that the logo conforms to the
conventions of the genre as R&B music videos on a
whole typically challenge the stereotypes given by
society. Here, the overall bold and strong image of
the artist connotes the convention of subverting
stereotypes thus conforms to its genre.

The type face of the font is very intense and bold

alone, the use of the accent on the denotes her
heritage which is not forgotten. The use of sansserif connotes the type of character the artist is a
bold and independent woman. This represents the
ideology of the artist as her songs encourages
women to be independent such as Single Ladies.
The colour black here also symbolises power which
furthermore emphasises this ideology. Though she
does portray herself voyeuristically in her general
image, it also connotes the womens right to dress
freely.

All of the artists advertising and work such as

digipaks, music videos and posters are all
synergistic to one another. The logo does not differ
and presents the artist to be a young and snazzy in
his overall image. If the typography was in sansserif without the paw print, one may argue that he
would not be addressing the youth. Moreover
especially as his songs are about relationships (a
convention of pop) it links to the target audience.

The typography of the artists logo is in Serif font

where the same letters are not the same e for
example. This connotes the informality and
youthfulness of the artist trying to emphasise with
his target audience as he is young himself. The use
of the paw print symbolizes his youthful age as it is
not often associated to the older artists. Moreover
the spaced characters and the serif font frames
asymmetrical layout connoting the artists dynamic
persona, though it is not greatly asymmetrical we
can see Eds overall profile of youth in his logo.

The logo conforms to the conventions of the genre

R&B and pop as it emphasises the target audience
a lot through its typography. If the genre of pop
focalizes on youth, one may argue that the logo
associates with this target audience. The lack of
formality in the layout and font connotes this along
with the paw print.

Black is the dominant colour here. The rich and

saturated colour intensifies the artists name and
allows the audience to easily read it. Similarly with
the previous logos, there is a use of black against
the white background all for the same reason to
read it easier.

The logo conforms to the conventions of

the genre of electronic music as the
drawing shows a difference between other
logos. Generally there are a lack of
drawings used for a logo and it is typically
an artists/bands name as opposed to an
image. Electronic music uses conventions of
strobe lighting and the drawing looks as if it
is a type of lighting therefore we can see a
convention of the genre in a logo.
This is furthermore synergistic to music
videos such as Latch where the logo
appears on characters faces. The logo
also replaces the bands face on their
tour poster thus showing synergy and
emphasizing the logos trademark.

The ideology of the band is

also represented through the
drawing as the band is
defaced connoting equality
maybe. As an example of this
the music video Latch
promotes equality as
characters of the same gender
also kiss one another. The logo
can be a metaphor for
removing labels of people
thus connoting the ideology of
the band.

As for the logo Disclosure itself the typography of this uses sans-serif font and even space between the
characters. This creates an symmetrical layout for the logo one that is easy to read and bold to recognize.
Similarly the name of the band continues the colour scheme of a white/grey against the black background and
achieves continuity so the audience can identify them. Both logos appear in their work posters, digipaks and
music videos and establishes their band, however the artwork of the face alone would identify the band to
their fans.
