RATIONALE & STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM


This study is conducted to forecast and gain insights on which non-agricultural segment in the Philippines
gives the highest wages and compensation so that the public can decide whether which segment they would want to
engage in. In consideration with the growing unemployment rate and the rise of non-agricultural businesses, this
study is directed to provide a better prospect for jobs wherein people can obtain greater income.

This paper aims to forecast the quarterly total cash


compensation index of non-agricultural industry employees
nationally.

To have knowledge on the amount of:


*Compensation of each non-agricultural sector on their respective workers
*Wages the workers received from various non-agricultural employment sectors

To identify which non-agricultural sector has the highest


compensation and wages
MAIN OBJECTIVE:

To provide insights to the public on which non-agricultural


sector would yield the greatest possible income

METHODOLOGY

DATA GATHERING

In this research historical quarterly national compensation and wages indices (general) data from (1st quarter of 2005 1st quarter of
2014) of the Philippines (National Statistics Monthly Journal) with 37 data points will be analyzed. Based on this data series, time
series forecasting will be conducted to forecast Compensation and Wages Index from the 2nd quarter of 2014 to the 1st quarter of 2015.

FORECASTING METHOD

TIME SERIES MODEL

In this research historical quarterly national compensation and wages indices (general) data from (1st quarter of 2005 1st quarter of
2014) of the Philippines (National Statistics Monthly Journal) with 37 data points will be analyzed. Based on this data series, time
series forecasting will be conducted to forecast Compensation and Wages Index from the 2nd quarter of 2014 to the 1st quarter of 2015.
