STRESS MANAGEMENT
AND DETACHED
INVOLVEMENT
Talvinder Kaur

Tagore gave a vedantic guideline for

work:
Every bit of work that you do, offer it
all to the feet of your Lord
The popular verse of Gita advises nonattachment to the fruits or results of
actions performed in the courses of
ones duty. Dedicated work means
Work for the sake of work

NISHKAMA KARMA
If we are always calculating the date of
promotion for putting in our efforts, such
work can not be commitment oriented
causing excellence in the results but it will be
promotion
oriented
resulting
in
disappointment and stress.
Another reason for non-attachment to stress
is the fact that workings of the world are not
designed to positively respond to our
calculations and hence expected fruits may
not always be forthcoming.

As per Gita, attaining the state of Nishkama

Karma is the right attitude to work because it
prevents the ego and the mind from
speculating future gains or losses and makes
an individual stress free.
The remedial action is to learn and practice the
art and science of ego-less and desire-less
work.
Nishkama Karma is more efficient because it
conserves psychological energy.

KARMA
Human being has the right to perform an
action but he has no control over the results of
Karma.
If something cannot be controlled, it should be
left to Almighty(GOD), i.e a complete surrender
of our wishes, desires, worries, action, ours,
mine, yours, tensions, frustration, greed etc.
We should surrender our karmas to the God
and relieve ourselves from all types of stress.
