FLEXIBILITY
Flexibility means to accept the change
The change may be positive or negative
Flexibility is the capacity to be bent, usually
without breaking

The measure of the intelligence is


the ability to CHANGE

Flexibility is an option
We have to be open to the change and
avoid rigidity both physically and
mentally
It is pro-active

Flexibility involves:
adapting successfully to changing situations &
environments
Keeping calm in the face of difficulties
Planning ahead, but having alternative options in
case things go wrong
Thinking quickly to respond to sudden changes in
circumstances

Flexibility can be enhanced through!!!

Changing the context;


Trying something new;
Questioning our thoughts and words;
Planning to be spontaneous;
Deliberately trying to think in different ways.

Limited flexibility may cause difficulties


with the following:
Solving problems creatively and adapting to novel situations
or dynamic/changing situations;
Dealing with uncertain, unanticipated or unpredictable work
situations;

Learning new tasks, technologies, and procedures;

Adaptability
Adaptability is the ability to change to fit new
circumstances.
Someone is regarded as adaptable if they are
able to manage multiple assignments and
tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing
conditions and/or work assignments.

Adaptability means being flexible when things


change.
An adaptable person is one who is open to
new ideas and concepts, to working
independently or as part of a team, and to
carrying out multiple tasks or projects.

If you are the kind of person who always has a to do


list and doesnt like it when something arises which
isnt on your list, then you probably arent naturally

Having an open mind

It is not the strongest of the species that


survives, nor the most intelligent that survives.
It is the one that is the most adaptable to
change.

do multitasking

Society today demands proficiency in this area.


Your ability to manage multiple assignments and
tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions
and work assignments are absolutely critical. This

skill is difficult to articulate at times because it has


become so much of a part of our everyday life. But

articulate it you must if you are going to secure the


position you want.
