Group dynamics is the study of groups, and also

a general term for group processes. Relevant to

the fields of psychology,
sociology, and communication studies, a group
is two or more individuals who are connected to
each other by social relationships.
Because they interact and influence each other,
groups develop a number of dynamic processes
that separate them from a random
collection of individuals.

Focus
Focus upon the people; their
behavior, motivation and other
relevant factors especially during the
group
formation,
which
is
cumulatively
known
as
group
dynamics

Explanation
Group
Dynamics
contains
two
different words in it, i.e. Group,
which
means
loosely
packed
individuals, jelled together for their
mutual interest & common goals. On
the other hand, Dynamics, which
means Attributes & bases which is
ever-changing
as
per
the
requirement and environment.

Importance

group
serves
compound
purposes: it serves as an apparatus
for common safety, encourage social
relationships among paddlers, and
provides a learning atmosphere for
fresher group members. Facilitating a
fine dynamics in ones group can
increase his group's efficiency toward
achieving all of these things.

WHY DO GROUP FOLLOW THE NORMS..??..

Norms enables the members to get

aware of what is ethical and what is
unethical
under
certain
circumstances.

Features of Group Norms:

1. They prcis & shorten group influence
processes.
2. They are normally developed only for
behaviors that are considered as essential
by majority of group members.
3. They apply only to behavior, and not to
private thoughts and feelings.
4. Though they develop gradually, but the
process can be shortened as per the desire
of the members.

Significance of Group Norms:

Facilitates the endurance of the group.
Allows members to communicate the central
values of the group & elucidate what is
unique about the group identity.

Increases the inescapability of group

members behavior.

Reduces awkward interpersonal problems for

group members.

Coming
together is a

Keeping
