taketh his name in vain.
WHY SHOULD WE FEAR GOD?

the knowledge of the holy [is] understanding. For by me
thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life
shall be increased.

moved.
2 CHRONICLES 7:3
And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire
came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the

mercy [endureth] for ever.
ANY REASONS WHY WE SHOULD FEAR GOD?
EXODUS 3:5, 6 (Holiness)
And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes
from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou
standest [is] holy ground. ...I [am] the God of thy
father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and
the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he
was afraid to look upon God.
LUKE 5:5, 8 (Creator)
And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we
have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing:
nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
When Simon Peter saw [it], he fell down at Jesus'
knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful
man, O Lord.
PERSONS WHO FEARED GOD
DEUTERONOMY 10:12, 13
And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God
require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to
walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve
the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all
thy soul, To keep the commandments of the
LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee
this day for thy good?
JOB 1:8, 9
And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou
considered my servant Job, that [there is] none like
him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one
that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then Satan
answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God
for nought?
CAN ONE FEAR GOD AND YET REMAIN
DISOBEDIENT TO HIS WORD?

God [is] not in this place; and they will slay me for my
wife's sake.
ROMANS 3:11-18
 There is none that seeketh after God

 They are all gone out of the way

 They are together become unprofitable

 There is none that doeth good

 Their tongues they have used deceit

 The poison of asps [is] under their lips

 Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness

 Their feet [are] swift to shed blood

 Destruction and misery [are] in their ways

 They know not peace

 There is no fear of God before their eyes

FEAR GOD: A FREE OR FORCED WILL?

HEBREWS 12:28, 29
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be
moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve
God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For
our God [is] a consuming fire.

2 CORINTHIANS 7:1
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let
us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh
and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2 CORINTHIANS 6:14-18
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:
for what fellowship hath righteousness with
unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with
darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or
what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And
what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for
ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I
will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be
their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore
come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith
the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will
receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall
be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
FEAR GOD: KEEP HIS
COMMANDMENTS
ECCLESIASTES 12:13, 14
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God,
and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole
[duty] of man. For God shall bring every work into
judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good,
or whether [it be] evil.
REVELATION 14:7
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to
him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship
him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the
fountains of waters.
