Live Projects

In the Academic year 2014-15, Performance was not quite satisfactory. There were only 5
competitions conducted, among them 2 of them were quizzes, and 2 of them were competitions
related to tourism which are individual events. Only pitch please appeared to be an interesting
competition. There was only one special marketing session by a visiting professor and even limited
number of people allowed for that session. Even the number of live projects could have been more
and more initiatives can be taken to connect students and the leading marketers in the Industry.
Even the presence on Facebook page was not that active, the average time per post is 7.2 days
which should be reduced a lot and active presence of social media is necessary. Some of the
marketing related stuff and articles are too low in number (12), which can be a lot improved.

Publish Infographics of all sectors


before placements: Analyze the sectors
and publish infographics during the time of
placements so that it will help all the
students appearing for both marketing and
sometimes non-marketing too. During that
stressful season, Infographics helps them
greatly to understand and remember data
than they do on their own in the form of
written/ Printed documents.
Objective: To help all the people
appearing for Marketing companies in the
industry
Tentative dates: These infographics can
be published a couple of days before
placements
Start a Blog: A blog can be started to post
all the articles related to marketing and
different practices of marketing used by the
companies today. In order to do this, the
team which is previously divided fits better
because of narrowed focus of each member
actually helps them to work better and this
blog can be taken care by news and
editorial head along with digital marketing
and PR head.

Specials sessions on Marketing: Though


only one special session on Marketing is done
during the past year, more efforts should be
put to bring more guest speakers on campus to
conduct Special sessions on Marketing. It
increases both the enthusiasm in the students
about Marketing and the also enhances the
opinion on Mercur I.
Objective: To conduct more special sessions
on Marketing by calling more professors and
Industry experts for guest talks.
Tentative dates: These can start in the
second half of July so that It helps more people
to increase their interest in marketing.
Promotions: The profile and credibility of the
speaker along with the importance of the
session can be used as a promotional tool and

Marketing quizzes competitions
are conducted( Branded and
Mardi Gras). There can be more
quiz competitions like that can be
conducted. Rather than making a
mash up of all types of questions,
Quizzes of specific types can be
conducted like Tagline Quizzes,
Campaign Quizzes etc.
Objective: To help students have
deep knowledge in each segment
of Industry
Tentative dates: They can
happen in alternative weeks
during months of July to
September
Promotional Activities: This
can be done with the help of
Facebook page and every day an
interesting tag line of a brand is
posted or question is asked so
that people get more interested
and it creates buzz

Guidance for juniors in


their summers:
Apart from placement
preparatory session
conducted by Mercur I,
there can also be sessions
conducted after
placements and before
summers about how to
convert the internship offer
into a PPO. This session can
be taken by PPO holders in
relevant marketing
companies.
Objective: To guide Juniors
about their summers and
help them how can they
make most out of it
