Brief introduction

A Slayer exciter is basically a small solid state

tesla coil, usually a one transistor design.
The Slayer Exciter was the brainstorm of Dr. Stiffler
and GBluer a few years ago.
It has since been modified and improved,
resulting in a community of people whose hobby is
to revise and improve them.
Ithas many educational aspects that can have real
life applications, such as boosting voltages,
wireless power, oscillating circuits and such.
Maybe not exactly the same way, but similar
designs are being used all over the world for real
products.

Basic working

A Slayer Exciter is an air-cored

transformer that steps up a very low DC
voltage to a very high AC voltage.
This creates an electromagnetic field
around the coil that is capable of lighting
up fluorescent and neon light bulbs.
It is fairly similar to a Tesla Coil.

COMPONENTS OF A SLAYER EXCITER

The power source supplies the voltage and

amperage.
The driver circuit takes the electricity from the
power source and prepares it for the transformer.
The primary coil creates a magnetic field from the
electricity.
The secondary coil converts the magnetic field
back into electricity and steps it up to a much
higher voltage.
Finally, the top load acts as a capacitor, greatly
increasing the strength of the electromagnetic field

ADVANTAGES OF WIRELESS ENERGY

TRANSFER

1. Highly Resonant Strong Coupling

Provides High Efficiency Over
Distance.
This mode of wireless power transfer is
highly efficient over distances ranging
from centimeters to several meters.
We define efficiency as the amount of
usable electrical energy created from a
source.
This mode of transfer can assure a high
rate of efficiency due to its design

2. Energy Transfer via Magnetic Near Field Can

Penetrate and Wrap Around Obstacles
The magnetic near field has several properties that make
it an excellent means of transferring energy in a typical
consumer, commercial, or industrial environment.
Most common building and furnishing materials, such as
wood, gypsum wall board, plastics, textiles, glass, brick,
and concrete are essentially transparent to magnetic
fieldsenabling this technology to efficiently transfer
power through them.
In addition, the magnetic near field has the ability to
wrap around many metallic obstacles that might
otherwise block the magnetic fields.

3. Non-Radiative Energy Transfer is Safe for People

and
Animals
WiTricitys technology is a non-Radiative mode of energy
transfer, relying instead on the magnetic near field.
Magnetic fields interact very weakly with biological
organismspeople and animalsand are scientifically
regarded to be safe.
Professor Sir John Pendry of Imperial College London, a
world renowned physicist, explains: The body really
responds strongly to electric fields, which is why you can
cook a chicken in a microwave. But it doesn't respond to
magnetic fields.
As far as we know the body has almost zero response to
magnetic fields in terms of the amount of power it absorbs."

4. Scalable Design Enables Solutions from

Milli watts to Kilowatts.
This system can be designed to handle a broad
range of power levels.
The benefits of highly efficient energy transfer
over distance can be achieved at power levels
ranging from Milli watts to several kilowatts.
This enables the technology to be used in
applications as diverse as powering a wireless
mouse or keyboard (milliwatts) to recharging an
electric passenger vehicle (kilowatts).

WHAT CAN WE DO USING THIS ???

WIRELESSLY Light up:
1. Neon lights (several feet away)
2. Florescent tubes (within about a foot)
3. CFL's (within about a foot)
4. LED's (across the room) and even small incandescent
lights (with an L3 coil)

Burn and ignite:

1. Candles
2. Wood (pencils)
3. Paper

Destroy:
1. Crappy / half dead LED's
2. Bacteria
3. Sensitive electronic equipment (phones,
computers, SD cards, CD's, blu rays, flash drives)\

Create:
1. Ion wind motors
2. The coolest lantern or light on earth
3. Fires
4. Plasma cutter

Make Nearby electronic equipment go Haywire:

1. Calculators
2. Digital clocks and alarms
3. Devices with capacitive touchscreens (PlayStation
VIVA, smartphones, feature phones, tablets)
4. HF remotes
Transmit wacky sounds (loads of EMI) to:
1. AM radio
2. FM radio
3. Shortwave radio
4. HAM radios possibly
5. TV interference
