Why Wind Power?

Based on wind data collected by Pakistan Meteorological Department, AEDB


has established/identified a Wind Corridor

The corridor is 60 Km wide (Gharo to Keti Bandar) & extends upto Hyderabad

According to AEDB, the area within the corridor has potential to produce
50,000 MW of electricity

Keeping in view the huge available potential of wind power, current deficit of
electricity in Pakistan and the technological development in wind power
worldwide, Allama Abu Bakr Memorial Wind Power Company intends to
diversify and install a wind farm

regardingenergy conservation and safety in handling nuclear materials.

Study

As a first step Allama Abu Bakr Memorial Wind Power company carried out the
pre-feasibility study of wind power project through a local consultant having
expertise in such studies in Pakistan
Feed Package

Evaluate options that will improve the return on assets (ROA)

Conduct hazardous operations reviews

Support internal funding requirements

Develop the engineering design packages that can be used to bid a lump sum
EPC scope and / or provide the foundation for the detailed engineering phase

Prepare cost estimates for scope definition and for project funding

Milestones to be achieved

Submission of proposal by Sponsors

Review of proposal by AEDB.

Submission of Bank Guarantee and Project Facilitation Fee by Sponsor

Issuance of Letter of Intent (LOI) by AEDB

Initial time for Feasibility Study and term of the LOI

Application for tariff determination and grant of Generation License to NEPRA by Sponsors
(upon approval of Feasibility)

Generation License / Tariff approval from NEPRA.

Submission of Performance Guarantee by Sponsors upon acceptance of tariff determined by

supply of electric power to consumers

Approve investment and power acquisition programs of the utility companies

Determine Tariffs for generation, transmission and distribution of electric


power.
