Business Analytics Using SAP

Abstract

Dart Container previously used Manugistics for Transportation


Management, Genelco for HR, Catalyst for Warehouse
Management. Different legacy systems(based on verticals) were
used for its business.
In 2012, Dart acquired SOLO Cup, which triggered more
complicated operations. SAP was right there to give very efficient
solutions.
With the enormous amount of growth in data & complicated
business processes, various SAP BW/BOBJ tools are extensively
used at Dart for more efficient analysis. Seamless integration of
various SAP tools lead to the reduction of development &
operating costs. SAP Finance had its early implementation with all
sub modules being extensively used by business.

The fill rate reports measures how well the business is


fulfilling customer orders by both:
1. Quantity Shipped
2. On-time Shipment
The fill rate reports are used to evaluate several groups
from sales, production planning, and plant managers.
As a customer service oriented organization, Dart
maintains high fill rates

Adhoc Users- Modifies & Schedules reports
End Users/Business Users- Run various reports
Role:-

1. EIM team develops Web-Intelligence, Crystal Reports


and submit it to End and Ad-Hoc Users for Analysis.
2. EIM team develops self-service Universes which
enables Power Users to create their own reports on
Web-Intelligence, Analysis for Office-Excel/OLAP
3. Act as a liaison between business users and technical
consultants which involves converting business
requirements
into
functional
specifications,
configurations, testing, documentation, end to end
