Control Operation of Overhead Lines

Auto Recloser ,
Auto Sectionalizer
&
SF6 Load Break
Switch

Auto Reclosers
Reclosers are used on overhead lines
distribution systems to detect and interrupt
momentary and permanent faults.
An auto recloser is equipped with a relay
protection and a mechanism that can
automatically close the recloser after it has
been opened due to a fault.
Since many short-circuit on overhead lines
clear themselves, a recloser improves service
continuity by automatically restoring power to
the line after a momentary fault.

Auto Sectionalizers
Sectionalizers are cheaper solution to
sectionalizing large outdoor networks that
are suitable for use in conjunction with
automatic reclosers only, in case no control
needed.
The sectionalizer principle of the operation
is very simple if the upstream recloser trip
on the fault then sectionalizer will also open
its contacts after certain (preconfigured)
time delay and number of operation.

SF6 Load Break Switch

Its not a protection selectivity for the
over head lines networks, where it
used only to partial the networks
when needed.
SF6 Load Break Switch principle of the
operation depend on manual
operation only.

sectionalizer
Before fault R,S1 and S2 are closed (normal operation).
At fault between S1 and S2 , then R sense the fault
firstly, then R open, and counter is (N-1) for (R, S 1 and
S2 ). N: means number of shot. After this R closed
At second shot, R is opened and counter is (N-1) for (R,
S1 and S2 ). N: means number of shot. After this R
close, and S1 open.

At third shot R is opened and counter is (N-1) for (R,

S1 and S2 ). N: means number of shot. After this R
close, and S2 open. S1 still open
