position
OTOBI Ltd. is one the leading furniture
manufacturing company in Bangladesh. Mr.
Nitin Kundu along with his two friends
founded it as a small workshop in 1975.He
combines technology and art together, which
open a new horizon in our industrial arena.

There are 18 showroom in Bangladesh. Main
four showrooms situated in Dhaka city.1st one
Elephant road, 2nd one Dilkusha, 3rd one
Uttara 4th Gulshan and the other showrooms
is Shampara, Khilgao and in Jatrabari. OTOBI
has also some another showrooms in
Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna ,Barishal ,Bogora
and also in India and Ukrain.

The quality of Otobi is much better than its
competitors. Now a day they are producing
large quantity wooden product with a large
number of designs. Behind the quality of
Otobi the secret is that they have a separate
quality control department. More than 100
man powers are working for maintaining the
quality of the product.
Mainly Otobi has three competitors in the
furniture business. They are Hatil, Partex,
Navana furniture and the Akea
internationally. Others are optional because
their raw material is not same with Otobi.
As Otobi is the leader company in
furniture business so they earn the
highest profit among them. According
to the information they keep 18% of
their sales as a profit.
OTOBI is fully equipped with latest machineries
and technologies. It mainly manufactured metal
& steel furniture.
The manufactured process is:
i. Furniture component are manufactured from superior
quality steel.
ii. The thickness of steel is consistent with its functional
& structural needs.
iii. All steel components are subjected to the process of
pros petting to protect from rust.
iv. All components are given coats of superior quality
paint.
v. Oven baked for obtaining a hard surface finish.
vi. Ready for sale.
Design plus limited is the corporate office of
OTOBI Ltd. From here all activities are carried
out for marketing and sales of OTOBI’s
product.
Design Plus Ltd. is responsible for :
Preparing sales and marketing plan for the
company.
Control and monitor all showroom activities and
dealers operations.
Carrying out marketing research and marketing
intelligence report.
Company has its full range after sales
service department for any defective product
found in any showroom. Company charges a
small amount of fees for this service and for
any replacement of component of its
product. OTOBI provides this service by
Design Plus limited in Dilkusha.
At present MIS of this company is in developing
stage. The developments are as follows :
i. Two FoxPro programs are developing for
storage of information and their signal of
availability.
ii. Accounting system will be fully automated
with oracle program.
iii. All information for the management will
be automatic computer generated.
iv. The whole company will be under a
networking system.
From the customers we got the information
that the price Otobi set for their products is
more reasonable and affordable to buy. They
provide the best service to customers in
Bangladesh than any other furniture company
in the country.
At present otobi company has 6000 workers
and 350 dealers. Both male and female
worker work there
Keep reinventing is Otobi’s new tagline,
working as a constant reminder that they
set their own standards only to break
them over and over again. The idea is to
challenge their own limits in order to
surprise consumers consistently in terms
of product design and variety, as well as
ensure their are motivated themselves.
i. Production: Production capacity of Shampur factory
and Mirpur factory is more than the market demand.
ii. Technology: Technology used for the production is not
fully automatic, some are semi-automatic.
iii. Marketing reporting: Marketing intelligence reporting
is not systematic & well organized.
iv. Information flow: Information flow between
department to department is not so fast.
v. Advertising & promotion: Advertising & promotion
plan is not well enough for finding out untapped
market.
vi. MIS: Management Information System is not up-to-
date. It is in developing stage.
