New Media
A broad term in media studies that emerged in the latter
part of the 20th century
New media holds out a possibility of:
on-demand access to content anytime, anywhere, on any digital
device,
as well as interactive user feedback, creative participation
and community formation around the media content.

The Internet offers various useful tools for communication
Do you know what the internet is ? The internet is an
interconnection of several thousands of computers of
different types belonging to various networks across the
globe.
The internet is an integral part of new media.

For the past fifteen years or so,
we have been living through a revolution in communication,
a revolution driven by the spread of cheap personal computers
and the digitization of all previous forms of media.
In the 2001 it was estimated that only 1.3 percent of the
nations population had ever gone online. By 2006 this figure
had grown to 6.5% and in 2012 to 10.0%. Today, more than 10
percent of Pakistani citizens have Internet access.

In 1993, the World Wide Web boasted only 130 web sites;
By 2013, the number of sites on the web had grown to
more than 700 million.
By 2001, AOLs instant messaging software was carrying
more than 800 million messages a day.

Millions of people pour out their souls and their minds on
personal blogs and on social media platforms like Twitter and
Facebook every day and millions more read their ramblings.
Listening to music and radio, playing games and watching
TV/movies/video via the web has become increasingly popular,
so much so that existing media content providers are having to
adapt their businesses to the new medium despite not yet
knowing how to profit from it.

Virtually every aspect of life in the advanced industrialized
worldeducation, scientific research, healthcare,
commerce, entertainment, sports, politics, social

the growing popularity of the Internet.

RSS(Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering
regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites,
weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their
content as anRSS Feedto whoever wants it.
often called Really Simple Syndication, uses a family of
standard webfeedformats to publish frequently updated
information: blog entries, news headlines, audio, video.
