INTRODUCTION
This case is all about Abraham the newly hired

business director in ORTRAX INDIA who wants to


leave the company because he thinks that he is not
fit for this job.
The companys sales is declining & Mudgal the MD
of the company knows that his company has no such
talents to handle this type of situation & standards
to do any work has changed with the time thats
why he told Puneet ,vice president of GLOBALHEADS
to hire a business director {from outside the
company} who with his new ideas will help Mudgal
to restructure his business.

IMPORTANT CHARACTERSTICS OF
ABRAHAM
Abraham has 18 years long experience in three different
companies. He had come to be known as a person
capable of breathing life into near dead situations. He
have the qualities like rejuvenate the dying business,
reposition a business & revamp the supply chains & these
qualities became the important part of his experiences.
Apart from these he had an amazing insight into consumer
minds. He was excel in all the areas like engineering,
distribution & even in the positioning of the products. He
has an ability to think different. He never leave the work
undone until the solutions has come. These all qualities
made Abraham important & fitted well with the needs of
ORTRAX .

Now Abraham wants to bring some changes in the


organization. He came up with some new models but
he is not so sure about that & for this he needs some
money & he waits for the sanction of budgets from
regional commercial head but the commercial head
sights set on a different plan in India. He has been
saying for sometime that India be used as a
production base for Thailand & Malaysia. He wants
Calsa & Ferrich to be launched in India & the London
commercial head has different agenda. Now the
whole things become too complicated for Abraham
because everyone has different agendas.

Now Puneet calls Narahari Vaman , former

business advisor to Mudgal to resolve the


conflict between young internal management
committee, who says Abraham brings very big
changes to the organization & he has some far
reaching ideas & this ma is going to be our
winning mascot and the older teams, who says
Abraham should more patient. We are not such
fast moving organization. He wants everything
to be done fast & we are responsible for India &
we need to think out his moves carefully.

Now Vaman says that it is difficult to change

peoples mindset because they dont want to


change. Although the business needs a
mindset like Abraham but he doesnt have the
position in the organization to create those
mindset changes globally. This is a highly
matrix organization. Vaman says that
Abraham have to get at least 20 people in his
favour to implement his ideas. Finally says
that his place doesnt suits Abrahams style

As in the case Abraham was the right person to but

the given to him that was not wrong. Abraham was


experiences person & having skills to read the mind
of consumers & bringing out life into near dead
situation. In this Puneet was not the mere speculator
he did not played any major role. He was only
looking what Abraham was doing, how he doing
what are the strategies he will be adopting etc.
Abraham became unhappy with the organization
because there were so much of complications &
people engaged in the work made him frustated &
made him to leave the company.
