TOURIST ARRIVALS
While U.P has various religious as well as architecturally known destinations
which attracts tourists.
According to Tourism statistics by state 2011, out of total tourist arrivals in Uttar
Pradesh, 9.7% is Foreigner and 18.3% is Domestic.

TOURIST POTENTIAL
Rich in religious and historical importance which attracts visitors all year .
Opportunity to watch pilgrims on large scale having myth and beliefs.
A place for every age group, income group- family, friends, senior citizens,
foreigners, artists, writers, travelers, etc.
Naimish has a parikrama (circumambulation) path of 16 km, in which all of the
sacred places are believed to be located.

Naimisharanya
is located
in India, in the state of
Uttar Pradesh, in Lucknow
province, in Sitapur
district. It is located 35 km
from Sitapur, 40 km from
Hardoi and 100 km from

Naimisharanya is also
popular as
Neemsar or Naimisha.
TOURIST POTENTIAL
1. CHAKRATIRTH- It is round shaped holy water pond. People take bath
in it and worship. It is sad that the Chakra threw by Brahma ji,
ultimately reached this place and went inside the earth. Thereafter a
large watersourcedeveloped at this place. Since then a number of
people use to visit this holy place

2. HANUMAN GARHI- Near the Pandev Kila (Fort) there is a huge size
stone-carved murti of Shri Hanuman Ji. Shri Ram and Lakshman are
sitting on the shoulders of Hanuman ji. After winning Ahiravana in
patal lok, Hanuman ji first emerged at this place, hence this place is
significant in the heart of people. Since the Hanuman Ji is facing
towards south the temple is also called Dakshireshwar Hanuman ji.

Once upon a time, the sages requested Brahma to point a holy place
where the influence of Kali Yug is not felt and where worship yields
the desired fruits. Brahma had created a Chakra (disc) from his heart
and threw it saying, "Wherever the Nami or center of this disc lands,
there, a very sacred and fast result-yielding place is created." Since
Nami landed, this place is known as Naimisharanya. This is stated
inKoorma Puraana,Siva Puraana,Padma Puraana,Devi
Bhaagavatham,Vaayu Puraana,Matsya Puraanaand many
more Puraanas.
Naimisharanya is the birthplace of many puraanas. Here, many sages
have gathered Knowledge for realizing self.
It is because of its historic importance that people from all over India
visit this holy place.
RAIL
Naimisharanya has a railway
station on Sitapur-hardoi line.
However, convenient rail heads
are sitapur-40 km and Lucknow110 km which are connected
with all major cities.

Bus services are available form
Lucknow , Hardoi and Sitapur.

Kheri district is not direct
connected to other parts of
country. The nearest airport is
Lucknow, connected to many
places in India including Delhi
and Mumbai by regular flights
which operates international
flights also.

Normally people came here for one day trip only either from Lucknow or
Sitapur. As such no good facility is available for stay or food.
STRATEGY COMPONENTS
To improve competitiveness in the marketplace, the following strategy
components must be put in place:
1. Knowledge and know-how strategy improving range and quality of
information on customers, distribution channels, suppliers, etc.
2. Product strategy expanding and improving the tourism product
3. Infrastructure strategy improving roads, utilities, etc.
4. Human resource development improving skills and service standards
5. Marketing and communications strategy creating greater awareness in
marketplace
6. Capacity building strategy strengthening tourism institutions
7. Security awareness strategy
ACTION PROGRAMMES
1. IMPROVING KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION
Establishment of tourists information centre/ interpretation centre at Naimish Kund
will improve the visitor satisfaction and interest in visiting the reserve.
2. OREINTATION PROGRAMME-includes information about religious tours and
programme plan about the proposed tourism.
3. Resorts/ hotel accommodation- increased number of luxury / mid-priced/ economical
rooms will improve visitor footfalls.
4. IMPROVING TOURISM PRODUCTS- this includes improvement in good quality of
accommodation facility within the reserve.
5. IMPROVING TOURIST FACILITIES- like medical centers, restrooms, watch towers,
at strategic locations
6. IMPROVING SERVICE STANDARDS- like training to local people for quality staff
to serve visitors.
DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS
1.
TOURIST PACKAGES: tours and travel packages help in attracting the visitors for 23 day stays and thus help in tourism infrastructure growth.
