What is Human Resource Planning?


Human resource planning has been defined as
the
process
by
which
management
determines how an organisation should move
from its current manpower position to its
desired manpower position.
Through it management strives to have the
right number and the right kind of people at
the right place, at the right time, doing things
which result in both the organisation, and the
individual receiving, maximum long-range
benefit.

WHAT IS ABSENTEEISM?
Absenteeism means the failure of a worker to report
for work when he is scheduled to work.
Absenteeism is unauthorised, avoidable and wilful
absence from duty.
The rate of absenteeism is defined as the
percentage of mandays lost due to absence to the
total number of mandays scheduled in a given time
period.

absence x 100

o Workers lose wages for unauthorised absence
from duty.
