Problems of conventional fish handling method (1)

Fishermen do not have any cooler instrument to
maintain temperature of the haul.

Otherwise they usually

put ice inside the box to
keep the haul in chilled
condition.

Problems of conventional fish handling method (2)

The chilling method by using ice inside the box will lasts for few hours
before the ice melted, however the haul need to be chilled longer. When
the haul is not properly chilled, its quality will soon decrease. This
condition leads to rotten fish.

They also put some salt to extend the shelf life of fish.
However this method will also decrease the fish quality
and hygiene significantly.
