The results from the survey tell us that thrillers are watched mainly by

males, possibly because it doesn’t appeal to them

because of the confusing storylines. This will influence our production by

targeting a female audience within the market as they are most likely to
watch our film. This information that is found out about females watching
thrillers more then men I think is not normal, men are usually into
guns/murder/death etc kind of films. To help us develop a solid narrative we
need to be open minded about our audience, so that we wont target one kind
of audience e.g. women.

The results from our survey show us that thrillers mainly appeal to
audiences between the ages of 15-20 this could be because the
characters are this age therefore the audience can relate to them.
Before we got the answer to this question we already knew that this
kind of age group will be into watching thrillers as they are exciting
and will keep audience at the edge of their seats. This will inform our
production as we will target an audience between that age range.

and political thriller as it is least popular, and focus more on crime as it was
the dominating sub-genre. Based on these results we will make a thriller that
is based on crime and murder, which is obvious as most people that we
asked preferred crime related films.

presume this is because it has a lot of action in there,
programmes like CSI and 24 are example of TV
dramas which people watch. We will base our film on
the sub-genre of crime as people will be more likely
to watch it, rather than hospital or law.

thrillers, this indicates that young people are likely to watch
few thrillers as young people took the survey, so we can
conclude that if your thriller is good and enjoyable some
people will watch it.

the past month 1-3 times, which shows that cinema has
become less popular in recent times. We will think about
alternative ways of distributing our thriller, for example, home
