Transformation Goals

Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this
world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind.

6 Reasons You Need To Set

Goals

1. Goal setting is a spiritual responsibility

I dont mean that I am exactly what God
wants me to be. I have not yet reached that
goal. But I continue trying to reach it and
make it mine. Thats what Christ Jesus wants
me to do. It is the reason he made me his.
Brothers and sisters, I know that I still have a
long way to go.

But there is one thing I do: I forget what is in the

past and try as hard as I can to reach the goal
before me. I keep running hard toward the finish line
to get the prize that is mine because God has called
me through Christ Jesus to life up there in heaven.
All of us who have grown to be spiritually mature
should think this way too. And if there is any of this
that you dont agree with, God will make it clear to
you. Phil.3:12-15

2. Goals are a statement of faith.

According to your faith let it be to you.
Matt.9:29

3. Goals focus my energy.

You know that in a race all the runners
run, but only one gets the prize. So run
to win!
So I do not run without a goal. I fight
like a boxer who is hitting something
not just the air.
1 Cor.9:24;26 (NCV)

4. Goals keep me going.

I wish he would crush me.

I wish he would reach out his hand

and kill me.
But I dont have the strength to endure.

I have nothing to live for.

Job 6:9;11 (NLT)

5. Goals build character

I do not mean that I am already as God
wants me to be. I have not yet reached
that goal, but I continue trying to reach
it and to make it mine. Christ wants me
to do that, which is the reason he made
me his. Phil.3:12 (NCV)

6. Good goals will be rewarded.

If your goals are good, you will be
respected Pr.11:27
All athletes are disciplined in their
training. They do it to win a prize that
will fade away, but we do it for an
eternal prize. So I run with purpose in
every step 1 Cor.9:25:26a

What kind of goals will God bless?

3 questions you should ask:
1.Will this goal honor God?
God paid a great price for you. So use your body
to honor God. 1 Cor.6:20
When you eat or drink or do anything else, always
do it to honor God. 1 Cor. 10:31
So we make it our goal to please him, 2 Cor.5:9

2. Is it motivated by love?
And do everything with love. 1
Cor.16:14
Let love be your highest goal! 1 Cor.14:1

3. Will the goal require depending on

God?
We plan the way we want to live,

but only God makes us able to live it.

Pro.16:9

What I need to see my goals

I NEED Gods Spirit to Empower me. Zech.4:6
I NEED Gods Word to guide me. Jos.1:8
I NEED Gods people to support me.
By yourself youre unprotected.
With a friend you can face the worst.
Can you round up a third?
A three-stranded rope isnt easily snapped.
