Mosquito Repellent
Device

Introduction
Malaria affects more than 250 million people and causes more
than a million deaths each year (WHO 2005).
One important control strategy against this and other
mosquito-borne diseases is mosquito control
Electronic mosquito repellents (EMRs) are intended to repel
by emitting A high frequency buzz almost inaudible to the human
ear.
This would be beneficial and chief for Controlling the
Malaria

Transistor
Transistors are devices that control the
movement of electrons, and consequently,
electricity. There are two types of transistors are
used :
SL 100
SK 100

SL 100
SL100is a general purpose, medium power

NPN transistor.
Mostly used as switch in common emitter
configuration.
DC voltage require to operate in the desired
region of its characteristics curve ,this is knows
as biasing.
It has protruding edge identified as emitter base is
nearest to the emitter while collector lies at other
extreme of the casing.

SK 100

SK100is a general purpose, medium power

transistor.
Fixed DC voltage is require to operate in the
desired region of its characteristic curves. This is
known as the biasing.
The emitter leg of SK100 is indicated by a
protruding edge in the transistor case.
The base is nearest to the emitter while collector
lies at other extreme of the casing.

Piezo buzzer

Thepiezo buzzerproduces sound based on

reverse of the piezoelectric effect.

The generation of pressure variation or strain by
the application of electric potential across a
piezoelectric material is the underlying principle.
The buzzer produces a same noisy sound
irrespective of the voltage variation applied to it.
It consists of piezo crystals between two
conductors.
This, push and pull action, results in a sound
wave.

Capacitors
A capacitor (originally known as a condenser) is a passive
two-terminal electrical component
electrostatically in an electric field.

used

to

store

energy

The forms of practical capacitors vary widely, but all contain at

least two electrical conductors (plates) separated by a dielectric

(i.e., insulator). The conductors can be thin films of metal,
aluminum foil or disks, etc
a capacitor does not dissipate energy. Instead, a capacitor

stores energy in the form of an electrostatic field between its

plates.
Capacitors are widely used as parts of electrical as well as

electronic circuits.

Resistors
A

resistor
is
also
a
passive
electrical component
that
electrical resistance as a circuit element

two-terminal
implements

Resistors act to reduce current flow, and, at the same

time, act to lower voltage levels within circuits

Resistors may have fixed resistances or variable

resistances, such as those found in thermistors,

photoresistors, humistors and potentiometers.
The current through a resistor is in direct proportion to

the voltage across the resistor's terminals. This

relationship is represented by Ohm's law:
I=V/R

Conclusion
effective and significant method of controlling

malarial infection.
Reliable and cheaper way of mosquito
repellent.
Elimination of chemicals and their negative
side effects.
EMRs helping in declining the percent of
malarial victims.
used for indoor as well as outdoor application.
