Introduction
• The increase of productivity has always
been the primary concern in every
agricultural and rural development efforts.
Various methods and technology systems
has been employed and looked into as
possible solutions to ensure high yields.
But sometimes, these methods are not
always the “best” solutions. Most of them
come at a certain price.
• Certain employed techniques in ensuring high
yields require inputs such as fertilizers and
pesticides. These imposed severe cost that
burdens small farmers. Aside from this,
increased productivity comes in such a high
price – environmental degration. The use of
chemical fertilizers and pesticides tend to
strip the soil of its natural nutrients, thereby
causing the environment to degrade.

Idea
 Lactic Acid Bacteria
Serum
• It is a microorganism also popularly called
microbes, are microscopic organisms
especially applied to bacteria, protozoa,
algae, fungi and viruses. They float in soil,
sea and air that inextricably intermingle
with man’s environment. Use this as
fungicides, this live microorganisms are
beneficial and help combat the bad
effects of disease – causing bacteria.

Implementation
 Materials
• 10 Kilo of crude sugar
• 10 liters refresh milk
• Earthen Jar
• 1 ½ liter ricewash
 Procedure:
• Save the first rice wash because this has plenty
of good microorganisms. Place in a clay jar.
• Rice wash should be 7 inches deep. Place the jar in
a cool and shaded place.
• After 7 days the rice bran will float on top.
Strain and use only the water of LAS
• Put in a jar and add fresh milk 10 times its
quantity
• Cover with a clean sheet of paper and tie with a
string. After 7 days fat will float on top and
underneath is a yellowish substance
• Extract only the yellowish substance without the
fat and add crude sugar the same amount of the
LAS spill will not spoil. Store in a cool and shaded
place for seven days.
• Mix 2 tablespoon of LAS to 1 liter of water. This
can be used as animal drink and can also be
sprinkled to plants and compost.

• Summary
• The Lactic Acid Bacteria Serum ( LAS ) is
organic fertilizer. It can also be used for
animal drinks. It can also sprinkle to the
plants. This system brings the soil and
environment back to its original form
where the nature works for the production
of us needs. The “beneficial
• Microorganisms” is at term for a large
group of microorganism that contribute
beneficial soil effects such as nitrogen
fixation, mineralization, humus formation,
disease suppression and decomposition.
• “ Let us make our environment our
concern and responsibility. Let us
segregate our waste, now!
