Straight Through Network Cable between LAN

Switch and HSCI Board
In

integrated configuration cabinet and service processing

cabinet, there are six 10/100M network ports on both active

and standby HSCI boards in each basic/expansion frame. The
ports labeled 10/100BT6 at the uppermost position of the
active/standby HSCI boards are connected to the active and
standby LAN Switches respectively through straight through
cables, realizing not only the communication between the
service processing subsystem and BAM, but also the
interconnection between the service processing frames.
The

connection positions on the front panel of LAN Switch

are determined by port configuration scheme.

Serial Port Signal Cable between iGWBs

To

ensure the dual backup working mode of iGWB, and in

view of security design, the two iGWBs in the integrated

configuration cabinet need to be connected by serial port
cable to form the second heartbeat signal transfer path for
the dual backup mode. The connection port is the RS232
serial port at the back of iGWB server, located above VGA
interface

Serial Port Cables for Monitoring Power

Distribution Frame
The

signal monitoring of the power distribution frame is

carried out by SMUI board of service frame. On the

monitor board of the power distribution frame, there are
two RS485 serial ports serving as the active and standby
power monitor ports, which are connected with the active
and standby monitor ports of SIUI board of the service
frame through the serial port cables to send the monitor
signals of the power distribution frame to the background.
Each cabinet is connected with two serial port cables.

Trunk Cable between SoftX3000 and Digital

Distribution Frame
Two

types of trunk cable are adopted in SoftX3000: 75

E1 trunk cable and 120 E1 trunk cable. Both the two

types of trunk cable adopt DB50 high density connector
with a locker for fixing.
The

EPII boards are configured in active/standby mode,

and only the active EPII board is connected with the trunk
cable through its DB50 trunk port, as shown in Figure 618. After out of the panel of EPII, the trunk cables pass
through the cabling trough of the cabinet in horizontal
direction, and then are out of the cabinet by upward or
downward cabling along the left column of the cabinet.

External Clock Cable between SoftX3000 and BITS

External

clock cable is used to connect the active/standby

CKII board with BITS, adopting 75 coaxial cable.

BITS

outputs two types of clock signals, including 2-MHz

analog clock signal and 2-Mbit/s digital clock signal.

When SoftX3000 adopts 2-MHz signal, the active and
standby clock cables connect respectively with the
corresponding SMB connectors LINE1 and LINE2 of CKII
boards in the basic frame. When SoftX3000 adopts 2Mbit/s signals, the active and standby clock cables
connect

respectively

with

the

corresponding

SMB

connectors BITS1 and BITS2 of CKII boards in the basic

frame

External network cable

External

network cable is used to connect SoftX3000 with

external network devices, and the external network

interfaces in SoftX3000 are provided by the corresponding
back interface boards. The media resource server is also
connected to SoftX3000 through external networking
devices. The active and standby MRIAs, MPCs and SCCs
are connected to the external Routers or LAN Switches
through the external network cables.

Summary
The

signal cables are divided into internal signal cables

and external signal cables. Among the external signal

cables, the clock cable, trunk cable and external network
cable are optional depending on the actual hardware
configuration.
