John comes home from work and

sees his wife at the door.

He kisses her, but she was not
enthusiastic!
She is seldom enamored by his
embrace.

Could it be that she is

secretly enjoying the
embrace of somebody
else? he wonders.

Away from the stress of

work, John kicks off his
shoes, throws off his coat
and rests his aching feet
on the table.
This seemingly reckless
behavior really angers his
wife!
Would you take your feet off the
table? she screams!

This started the quarrel. When

they went to bed that night Mary
would not allow John to embrace
her and he thought of divorcing
her since that night!

This marriage is in trouble! Why?

Because John and Mary are
different. They love each other, but
they express their love differently,
and each wants to be loved in a
different way!

Generally, there
are three ways of
expressing love:
Visually in
ways that can be
seen
Audibly in
ways that can be
heard
Kinesthetically
in ways that can

How are these

expressions
identified?

Example: Song
of Solomon 2:14
O my dove, let
me SEE your
face your face is
lovely.

While a visual husband is mindful of

the colors his mate wears, a visual
wife keeps her home immaculate as
an expression of her love.

Example of the Audible

mode:
Let me HEAR your voice; for
your
voice is sweet. Solomon
2:14

The auditory wife likes to hear her

partners constant chatter, while

The Shunamite bride, expresses her love

differently: His left hand is under my
head, and his right hand
EMBRACES me. Song of Solomon
2:6

A kinesthetic man likes to hold his

partners hand while walking, and
a kinesthetic woman wants to be
caressed and cuddled constantly.

Each person is different. Each one

wants to love and be loved
differently.
How can each person adjust to
the desires of the other?

First,
IDENTIFY YOURSELF AND YOUR
MATE.
Know what type of individuals you
are!
Examine yourself
observe and listen
to each other
take time to really
know each
other

Secondly,

Learn to accept each

other
When you have recognized the
differences between yourselves,
ACCEPT these differences and
RESPECT your spouses
individuality.

One strong reason why we should

accept and respect each others
personality is because of its
source

God made us the

way we are!
Psalm 139: 15, 16: My frame was not
hidden from You(God), when I was made in
secret Your eyes saw my substance, being
yet unformed.

God accepts people as they are.

He expresses His tender care for
different people in different ways.
He applied the three expressions
of love:
Example:
>Visually He anointed the blind man
>Audibly Peter told the poor beggar,
Look on us.
>Kinesthetically Jesus said, Rise,
take up your bed and walk.

Third and final,

PUT YOUR PARTNERS DESIRE
ABOVE YOUR OWN. (Philippians 2:3)
This is the great principle of

ALTRUISM
This is -- pleasing your mate, your
second self, more than your first
self which is you.

The SUPREME EXAMPLE of this

others first principle is no other
else but JESUS CHRIST!

Let each esteem others better than himself.

Let this mind be in you which was also in
Christ Jesus. Phil. 2:3&5.

So, there are Three ways to

express LOVE:

SEEING
HEARING
TOUCHING
One of these can be irresistible,
depending upon the personality of
the recipient!

Jesus, the Greatest Lover, made a

promise before He ascended to
heaven: Let not your heart be troubled;
you believe in God, believe also in Me. I
go to prepare a place for you I WILL
COME AGAIN and receive you unto
Myself; that where I am there you may
be also. John 14:1 -3

That will be a
spectacular
encounter! Because of
my human limitations
when I interact with
my earthly lover, one
is dominant seeing,
hearing or touching!
But when Jesus comes
again, all limitations
will disappear! I shall
see Him! I shall hear
Him! I will be touched
by His Glorious

Are you ready for

Jesus to come? Are
you faithful in all
that you do? Have
you fought a good
fight? Have you
stood for the right?
Have others seen
Jesus in you?
Are you ready to
stand in your place?
Are you ready to
look on His face?
Can you look up and
say. This is my Lord!?
Are you ready for
Jesus to come?

Amazing grace,
how sweet the
sound that saved
a wretch like me!
I once was lost,
but now am
found; was blind,
but now I see.

Through many dangers,

toils and snares;
I have already come;
Tis grace hath brought
me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me
home.
