KANDHKOT FIELD GAS

COMPRESSOR STATION
(KFGCS)

INTRODUCTION

Kandhkot Gas Field has been in


production since 1987 and wells
pressure
has
been
lowered
considerably and in near future Gas
supply to customers will not be possible
as per required pressure, therefore this
Gas Compressor Facility was installed
to meet futures demand.

SLUG CATCHER

This
is
a
piping
mechanism to separate
out Liquids into Gas.

INLET GAS FILTERS

3 Inlet Gas Filters are


installed at downstream
of Slug Catcher to remove
any remaining liquid and
solid particles.
2 filters always remain in
operation while 3rd one
remains as standby.

03 Siemens Gas Compressors installed
with Siemens Gas Turbine as prime
mover.
Gas Turbine

Siemens Gas Turbine (SGT 400) is


used as the prime mover for Gas
Compressors. This gas turbine is a twin
shaft design and is rated at 13.4MW.
Gas Compressors

Single-casing,
multiple-stage
turbo
compressor of single shaft design have
been used. Each compressor has two
process
stages.
There
are
four
impellers in the first process stage and
three impellers in the second stage.
Maximum speed (100%) : 9500 RPM

PROCESS GAS COOLERS

Air

Process Gas Coolers
are installed to cool
down the gas as per
required temperature.

KFGCS has own Power
Generation
to
supply
uninterrupted Gas Supply
to the customer.

MCC & DMC

MCC contains switchgears


for all plant equipment.
Digital
Master
Control
(DMC) is
an advanced
microprocessor
based
control
system
which
controls synchronization
and sequences for load
sharing among the two
generators in operation or
in case of shutdown of
one gas generator and
standby generator which
will become online.

FIRE WATER SYSTEM


For protection and
handling
any
emergency of Fire
a Fire Water System
is installed.
2 Jockey Pumps and
2 Diesel Engine
Driven
Pumps
including fire water
tank are available
to
cater
any
emergency.

COMPRESSED AIR PACKAGE


2 Screw type Air
Compressors
Manufacturer : Atlas Copco
Flow Rate: 5.67 m3/hr
Discharge pressure : 8 bar
Both Plant Air & Instrument
Air are dried using PSA.
Usage
PA is stored in a separate
vessel for general cleaning
purposes.
IA is also stored in separate
vessel used for pneumatic
valves / instrumentation.

INERT GAS PACKAGE

2 Trains of Inert Gas Package installed (A & B) for producing Nitrogen, which is
used as a seal gas in Process Gas Compressors.
Each train consists on
1 Air Compressor (43.9 m 3/min), manufactured by Ingersoll Rand.
1 Nitrogen Booster Compressor (1.3 m 3/min), manufactured by Ingersoll Rand.
1 Refrigerated Air Dryer
1 PSA Tower (427 Nm3/h, 99.5 % purity)
