Abstract
The primary focus of this paper is to
propose an architecture framework for
the existing RFID systems melded with
the Cloud Computing paradigm in order
to improve the scalability and boost the
performance of RFID systems.

What is RFID?

RFID = Radio Frequency IDentification.

An ADC (Automated Data Collection) technology that:
uses radio-frequency waves to transfer data between
a reader and a movable item to identify, categorize,
track..
does not require physical sight or contact between
reader/scanner and the tagged item.
Performs the operation using low cost components.
Other ADC technologies: Bar codes, OCR.

Cloud Computing
The phrase Cloud Computing is
used to mean a type of Internet-based
computing, where different services
such
as
servers,
storage
and
applications are delivered to an
organization's computers and devices
through the Internet.

Why Cloud Computing?

There are many reasons why more and
more companies are shifting toward IT
solutions that include cloud computing.
1.Cost cut down Capital as well as operating
cost
2.Burden is reduced due to offloading
3. Scaling of IT Infrastructure to meet the
demands.

Conclusion

This paper proposes a cloud computing architecture

framework which provides a direction towards the
scalable RFID systems. It involves the commitment of
the existing cloud computing systems to enhance the
computational capabilities and wide adoption of the
RFID systems on the cloud.
