WHAT IS CREATIVITY…..?

According to Wikipedia, “Creativity is a

mental and social process involving the
generation of new ideas or concepts, or
new associations of the creative mind
between existing ideas or concepts”.

allows a person to think
outside of the box,
which results in innovative or
different approaches to a

pr oblem. It depends on the attitude and the
thinking ability of an individual.”

it also depends on w hat an individual knowledge,
experience, per ceives, believes, and anal yzes.

described by Elliot Eisner

• Boundary Pushing (the rules are too
constraining)
• Inventing (bring things together in a
new way)
• Boundary Breaking (the rules are the
problem)
• Aesthetic Organizing (order and
beauty from chaos)

INNOVATION
• An Innovation is a creative idea put into practice.

• While the goal of creativity is to think beyond
conventional ideas, the goal of innovation is to
put these ideas into action.

• There can be creativity without innovation but no
innovation without creativity.


• The process of creativity involves looking for

solutions and ideas in the external
environment, on the other hand the process of
innovation involves looking to internal
resources for implementing ideas.
