Common Good
The sum total of social conditions which
allow people, either as groups or as
individuals, to reach their fulfillment more
fully and more easily.
The common good concerns the life of all. It calls for prudence
from each, and even more from those who exercise the office of
authority. The common good is always oriented towards the
progress of persons.

Commutative Justice
Regulates exchanges between persons and
between institutions in accordance with a
strict respect for their rights. Commutative
justice obliges strictly; it requires
safeguarding property rights, paying debts,
and fulfilling obligations freely contracted.
Without commutative justice, no other
form of justice is possible.
