READING & COMPREHENSION

This section requires pupils to read and


understand 2 passages (a linear passage
and a non-linear passage). Pupils will have
to answer 10 multiple choice questions (5
questions for the first passage and 5
questions for the second passage).

There are two types of passages, a linear


passage and a non-linear passage. These
two types of passages are found in the
Malaysian school syllabus.

For this exercise pupils must acquire


a certain level of literacy in reading not
only text but also diagrams and charts.

Pupils should practice reading the


different types of passages/text and not
concentrate on one type of text only.

The questions also involve a lot of


creative and critical thinking skills
(CCTS).

Look at the sub topic. Make sure of the position


whether it is arranged according to the arrangement in
the stimuli or not.
There were no sub-topics for last years paper.
Look at the specifications before filling in the answers.
Sometimes they do not follow the arrangement given in
the stimuli.
Pay attention to your spelling. They must be correct.
Make sure that your handwriting is good and clear.
Check your punctuation as well.
