RIP - 2015

Introduction
Sensitize Students of IIM Indore, who in future will
become entrepreneurs or occupy managerial
positions about the Rural India.
Many participants come from urban background and
may not have seen or experienced a rural area are
rural life - sensitized towards social issues prevalent
in the region, which broadens their perspective.
Observe the rural economy, understand the
challenges and opportunities for business, and
develop an overall understanding of the rural society.
Also get to know the various schemes undertaken by
Government in villages and to study and analyze the
execution and effectiveness of these schemes.

Objective
Provides insights on linkage between the society,
government and business.
Provides insights on the various dimensions of
district level administration, focusing primarily on
the policy administration and the execution gaps.
Providing insights into the rural economy, society
and households, so that as future entrepreneurs
and managers participants will be able establish
suitable businesses.
To analyze the challenges faced by the
government and come up with suggestions for
improvements.

Programme
The programme is spread over a
week (Nov 30 to Dec 5, 2015)
Participants visit several districts of
Madhya Pradesh. Participants are
divided into groups of 4-5 and are
sent to districts.
At present we have a list of 23
district.

Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin


Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) was
re-launched in the name of Nirman
Bharat Abhiyan in MP in April 2012.
SBMG is majorly focusing on
community involvement in sanitation
practices not only for Open Defecation
Restrictions but Hand washing and Safe
child excreta.

Monitor & Validate


In 2015-16, out of 51 districts in MP, around
412 Gram Panchayats (GPs) are selected from
23 districts.
These GPs are declared as Open Defecation
free (ODF) practice.
GP claims that all resident of it are defecating
in insanitary latrines.
Improved hand washing practice.
Safe child excreta disposal.
Potable water availability.
Good practice for ensure safe drinking water.

Each group has to survey 2 GPs in six days
A structured Questionnaire will be given to each
group and they have to survey 40 households in each
GP. (questionnaire will be provided by UNICEF)
Vigil the movements of the Villagers towards Open
Defecation .
Each group has to visit 2 School in 2 GPs.
Establishing of long term impact of WASH in society
Each group has to visit 2 Anganwadi in 2 GPs.
Rope of AWW in improving better hygiene practice in
pre nursery group children.
Safe child excreta disposal in first 1000 days care
mother group.
Each group has to interview 2 Panchayat Raj in 2 GPs.

Mobile App:
To identify GPs on real-time basis.
Each group needs to be prepare a
report 5-6 pages on each GP.
Need to identify of OD is still going on
then where is the problem or why it is
happening?
One consolidated final report we need
prepare and send to Mantralaya and
UNICEF.
