Most digital contents are based on non-linear narrative structures, such

as hypertext and hypermedia.
This is a fundamental aspect of the digital culture and one of its most
important differences from analogical forms of communication.

Although the term hypertext has been extended to all non- linear narrative
structures, Hypertext is based only on connections between texts .
Hypermedia is a wider narrative structure, based on the connection
between multimedia contents.
Currently, hypermedia is the functional and structural basis of the Internet
and multimedia narratives.

The sequential narrative structures have a linear character, similar to the

spoken or written language .
The non-linear narrative structures are more similar to the way that neural
relationships happen, and visual language.

Hypertext and hymedia demands from us an active attitude.

Hypermedia is not designed to reading content, but to interact with
them.
In fact, without interactivity, hypermedia communication is not
possible.

However, now it is possible to create interactive and multimedia
contents almost without coding.
Also the design tools have changed.

There are many platforms for creating interactive videos. The

most important are:

Using YouTube is the most basic and simplest way to
create interactive videos.
YouTube allows you to create interactive videos
through its annotation tools.
While you use annotations is possible to add
interactive elements linking different videos hosted in
YouTube.
Youtube only allows link videos hosted on its platform.
Youtube does not allow external links, or adding
multimedia content.

How I can create and edit video annotations?
