EVALUATION

A system of school based assessment


that covers all aspects of students
development with two fold objectives ;
Continuity in evaluation
Assessment of broad based learning
including behavioral out come

CONTINUOUS

simply it stands for assessment of a student
throughout an academic year
It is a periodic process occurring frequently in
regular terms
COMPREHENSIVE

assessment of development of a childs
personality
A childs growth and development can be
assessed in two areas;
SCHOLASTIC
related to intellect or
brain and is curriculum specific . Here learners
are assessed via assignments , projects ,
practicals etc

Assignments/Tests

GRADING SYSTEM
Grades are standardized measurements of varying
levels of comprehension within a subject area
The word grade is derived from Latin word gradus
which means step
Grading is a process in which marks are classified based
on predefined standards and is aimed at minimizing
misclassification

Reduce stress and fear factor in students & parents

Students score through his own talents and self


esteem increases
Helps to identify learning progress of students at
regular time intervals on small portions of content
Enables implementation of remedial measures of
teaching based on learning needs & potential of
different students
Negative comments on learners performance is
avoided
It will reduce the drop out rate

More time and ways for transaction of curriculum :


emphasis on conceptual clarification via experimental
learning in classroom
Holistic development of learner including personality
Prepare students for a better life by making them
physically fit ,mentally alert & emotionally balanced

DISADVANTAGE OF CCE
GRADING SYSTEM
A student who scores between 90 and 100 will
get an A1 grade .i.e., one who is getting 90
and other one getting 99 will receive the same
grade
Students may consider studies casually and
secondary
Introduction of percentile mark is a draw
back for further studies
Assignments and other co curricular
activities may sometimes be time consuming
and expensive
