Remembering Gods
Faithfulness

MHA
turns

Manila Hankuk Academy celebrated its

21st founding anniversary last June 15,
2015 at the school gymnasium with a
theme of Love the School More.

This years theme is hoped to encourage

students, teachers, and workers of MHA to
love the institution even more as it has
been a home for its people for more than
two decades. Though the program this
year was much simpler than the previous
years celebrations, it was meaningful as
anniversary
theme
what the
promoted.
As the school turns
21, it continues to
train and equip its
people for future
global mission work
for the glory of
God.

best for their play.
The Grade 2 kids came up
the stage with Love and

Love will Never Fail. The
Grade 2 performance tried
to send the message that
love always perseveres

SPIRITUAL
RETREAT 2015
Teacher April Liwanag

`
Elementary teachers at Manila Hankuk Academy work
hard each day to teach and encourage young students
academically, physically, emotionally, and most
especially, spiritually. Aside from the daily academic
teaching and learning programs, the school provides
the students the opportunity to participate in a retreat
experience to help them strengthen their relationship
with God and allow them to get to know each other
and their teachers better. Usually lasting two days or
three, the spiritual retreat includes lots of time for
praise and worship, prayer, group discussion, team
building, fun and games, and delightful meals.
On March 22-23, soon after the school opened, the
elementary students and teachers attended a two-day
spiritual retreat held at Boso-Boso Higlands, Antipolo
City. Teachers carefully planned prepared activities
such as physical challenge courses, team sports,
swimming, arts and crafts, and nature walk to help
students develop their physical, social and team
building skills.
However, the central focus of the retreat is on the
students spirituality. This years theme is about giving
God the highest honors which He deserves. The
speaker was once again Pastor Kim Hong Tae, the
school chaplain. Through his God-given message,
children learn about obedience, faith, responsibility,
and trust.
It is the parents and the teachers responsibility to lead
the children to the Lord at their very young age. Just as
what the book of Psalms say, children are like arrows in
the hand of a mighty warrior. Wherever you shoot
them to is where they will go. It is indeed important
that as early as now they know God and fear God.
Though they may be young, they should understand
the pleasure and importance of giving God the highest
honors even through the smallest acts they do. Truly,

The Philippines Part in the

Korean
War

The Korean War which began 63 years ago on June 25,

1950, remains a Forgotten War for most of todays 100
million Filipinos. The Korean War did not get much media
attention unlike the other wars, but for the 7,420 officers
and men of the Philippine Army that served in Korea from
1950 to 1955, and for those who actively supported our
fighting men, the Korean War was probably the defining
event of their lives. Freedom is not for free. It is paid
for with the blood of fighting men and stained
with tears of loved ones left behind. Both Filipinos
and Koreans died during that war. The first hot war of
the Cold War era--- remember the Korean War with
sorrow and pride. It was not just a war between
countries, however, it was our Fathers War. The
freedom have we have right now was the result of
