Who was Howard Carter?

Howard Carter was born in


1874 in England1
Howard Carter came to Egypt
to study archaeology when he
was 17 years old2
He was a very good artist,
which he inherited from his
dad3
Carter worked for 5 years in
Egypt before finding anything
important4

17,1923
Carters workmen began working
on November 1, 19226
Lord Carnarvon help to fund
Howard Carter in looking for King
Tut
Lord Carnarvon told Carter that
he was going to stop funding but
Carter begged for 10 more days
and within those 10 days he
found King Tut
Once Carter found King Tut he
telegraphed Lord Carnarvon, who
was in London and it took him 3
weeks to get to Egypt7

King Tut was the 12th King of the


18th Dynasty8
He was married to
Ankhesenamon who was the 3rd
Daughter of Queen Nefertiti9
He died when he was only 19
and there are many speculations
around his death10
Tut lived in Akhenaten11
Tuts parents were brother and
sister12
He had longer arms and legs,
which was called Marfan
Syndrome13
He also had Craniosynostosis
which is a long gated head14
He also had scoliosis (a curved
spine) which made it hard for
him to walk15

The Tomb
King Tuts tomb was found in
192316
Anubis guarded the entrance to
the treasury17

There were 4 miniature coffins found


in the tomb, and in each one there
were King Tuts organs (lungs, liver,
stomach, and intestines)18
The goddess Selket guarded the shrine
containing the organs19
There were 4 layers on Tuts tomb20
King Tut was buried with his two
stillborn daughters and a piece of hair
from his grandmother Queen Tiye21

The worker tried to cover it up
by using super glue27
When they had to go in and
fix the beard, they found what
they thought was King Tuts
name in Hieroglyphs28
They found out that it was
actually Queen Nefertitis

London all of the lights went
out in Cairo31
Carters canary, that he got for
good luck, was eaten by a
cobra the day that Carter found
