Class 2 Paragraph
Structure

The good paragraph also contains the aspects of unity

(main idea in a paragraph + supporting sentences
develop the main idea) and coherence (supporting ideas
are arranged logically and using some linking
transitional signals)

Unit 1 Topic Sentence

Should be a complete sentence => subject, verb,
and normally a compliment
Has a topic and a controlling idea, example :
A broad range of skills is what accountants require in
business
The important areas of household finances are
borrowing, insurance, and pensions.

The most general statement in the paragraph =>

only tell us about the main idea and does not give
any specific details
