Principal Avenues of Gods Revelation

A. God reveals Himself in

Creation
The heavens declare the glory of
God, and the firmament proclaims
His handiwork. Psalm 19:2
-beauty, abundance, goodness and
majesty reveals the kind of Creator
who supports our life on earth.
- He shares his creativity with us by
allowing us to have dominion on
other creatures he made.

These are natural signs of

God revealing Himself. But
these natural signs are
disfigured by pollution,
exploitation, injustice,
oppression and suffering.

The Eucharistic Prayer IV expresses this

recognition of Gods self Revelation:
Father in heaven, you are the one God, living
and true....
Source of life and goodness,
You have created all things
To fill Your creatures with every blessing
And lead all men to the joyful vision of Your
light....
Father, we acknowledge Your greatness;
All Your actions show Your wisdom and love,
You formed man in your own likeness and set
him over the whole world to serve You, his
Creator, and to rule over all creatures.

B. Word/Bible
The Bible records Gods
entering into a special covenant
relationship with His chosen
people, the race of Abraham, the
people of Israel.
Ex 29:45

I will dwell in the midst of the

Israelites and will be their God.

Eucharistic prayer IV
Even when man disobeyed you and
lost your friendship , You did not
abandon him to the power of death, But
helped all men and find you.
Again and again you offered a
covenant to man, and through the
prophets taught him to hope for
salvation.

C. Persons
1.The Church by her life and works
proclaim the Good News of Jesus.
Through chosen men and women,
kings, judges, prophets, and
priests, wise men preached the plan
of God for his people and in modern
times we have saints and martyrs of
the Church.

2. Jesus Christ who himself is

the ultimate revelation of the
invisible God.
D. Liturgy and Worship of the
Church
God continues to be present in the
world today through the Church in its
witness of loving service and through
the celebration of its Christ- given
Sacraments.

Exposition:
God communicates to us
through the Scriptures,
Church, Persons especially the
Person of Christ and in our
liturgies where we meet the
Risen Christ.

CCC#52
Clearly indicates the purpose
of God for revealing Himself.
He wants us to share in his
divine life and bring us to our
awareness that we are
created for him to know, to
serve and to love him.

God reveals to us Himself :

his good nature , his
desires, (loving plan), how
this plan is fulfilled in
Jesus Christ and his final
goal of being in fellowship
with all of us.
