INTRODUCTION OF

Textile is derived from Latin word texere means to weave.

They produce a variety of form and color

The songket applied Nature in the design
(example: it used a leaf design but types of leaves
cannot be identified, believed to be daun cempaka)

CREATIVE PROCESS
The design in the songket is stylized and
abstracted.
No longer represent the origin of the subjects.
Repetitive geometrical and organic motif.
(Example: using leaves as the subject matter but it
is stylized until it is different in shape & repetitive)

FORMAL ANALYSIS
Woven of silk, are synonymous with Southeast
Asian.
Brown color with black and white.
Usually the texture of the songket is soft due to
usage of silk.

Emotion
Trust, which is a positive emotion applied to this
songket

Woven process is applied in this handicraft.
